Academy Award winner, Michael Moore, discusses the controversy surrounding his latest documentary ‘The Planet of the Humans.’ At the core is that funding from billionaires has compromised some of the environmental organisations, and that this has held back advancing in the battle against global warming.
The documentary was release for free on YouTube on 21 April 2020 but was banned due to some very influential pressure. Despite this, more than 12 million people have watched it so far.
An investigation by renowned journalist Max Blumenthal has revealed, a group of billionaires are funding some major environmental organisations, and that this has tamed a section of the movement into ineffectiveness. It has turned away from espousing the need to take on the capitalist base of profit and greed above all else, and settled for corporate led recovery.
This is a critical debate within the environmental movement at a time of climate crisis, and sufficient reason to watch this documentary.
