It’s time to open their eyes about the threat to our oceans

The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) is appealing for support to help get action for the protection of our oceans.

As part of their campaign, Stars of internationally acclaimed Australian documentary BLUE – including ocean legend Valerie Taylor – are heading to Parliament House in Canberra to deliver a powerful message to MPs.

Our oceans are in peril, we must act to save them now, says the Society.

Australia is at a crossroads. Drastic cutbacks are proposed for our marine sanctuaries. Industrialisation is threatening our oceans, overseas fishing fleets risk our fish stocks, and our oceans are slowly filling up with plastic. We, as a planet, really need to look at our wasteful habits and change if we ever want to save the turtles and all other creatures of the ocean.

As Australians, we are responsible for the third largest area of ocean on Earth. Healthy oceans are essential to our economy, our global reputation, and our treasured way of life. It’s time to show them the truth – with this powerful message from our oceans.

BLUE shines a light on the challenges our marine life face, and the inspiring stories of those lighting the path ahead at this critical juncture.

The Turnbull Government is currently making important decisions that will either protect or devastate our marine life. We must make sure they choose the right path.

Sign the petition. Send in a letter. Together we can deliver a powerful message.
