Russia’s drone and missile attacks on Ukraine festivities and cities are disturbing but not for the reasons the public is being told. The line being put out here Is that Putin has turned his back on peace and launched this unprovoked attack. This is supposed to make us believe that everything is about a blood thirsty tyrant. If you believe in this, you believe in fairy tales, are entirely ignorant of the facts, or just dishonest.

The following video is a propaganda piece by the by the Ukrainian state-run Kyiv Post bragging about the attacks on Russia and making some big claims. Here is an indicator on ongoing United States involvement in Ukraine, despite Donald Trump’s claims to be seeking an end to hostilities.

Now that the fact that it was Kyiv that launched the first waves of attack on Moscow and other Russian cities has been established, an informed explanation can begin.

It was Russia that first proposed a ceasefire leading to the peace back on 28 February 2022 at a meeting in Türkiye. Volodymyr Zelenskyy was there. He agreed and signed the deal. Before the ink had dried, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered Zelenskyy to tear up the agreement. Zelenskyy obeyed. The United States supported this tearing up of the agreement. This incident showed who was in really in charge of Ukraine and the conduct of the conflict against Russia.

Russia had put forward a few demands. This is the nature of negotiations. They involved right of the Russian speaking population in Ukraine to choose their future, a top to putting NATO military forces, armed with nuclear weapons, and aimed at Russia on Ukrainian soil, and the de-Nazification of Ukraine. Those who continue to insist on backing the Zelenskyy regime are conveniently silent when it comes to addressing these issues.

Moving on. In February 2025 it was Zelensky who insisted that he would not support any talks that involved anything less than what amounted to a Russian surrender. This led to his humiliation by Donald Trump and JD Vance at the White House. Germany, France, and the United Kingdom backed Zelenskyy and opted for continuing the conflict. Ceasefire proposals were offered again in October 2023 June 2024. These were rejected outright by Zelensky and the three European powers.

Putin made it clear that Russia was for negotiating a ceasefire, on basically the same basis as in 2022.The difference now is that Russia has the upper hand in the battlefield and has steadily been moving forward all year. This is why Ukraine used the 9 May ceasefire to threatens the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow and sent hundreds of drones toward this city. Then in this past week, thousands more drones flew towards Moscow. Although they targeted the civilian population, Russia’s missile defence system prevented serious damage.

This was bound to generate a response. And it did. Russia sent its own missiles and drones. Footage from both sides, backed by credible reports, showed the targets were military installations and war production facilities. It would have been much better if none of this had happened. Political leaders in Germany, the United Kingdon, France, and to an extent, the United States, want the shooting and bombing to continue and resort to war propaganda to deny the reality and justify their own actions. They are calling the shots in Kyiv, and Zelenskyy has little other choice but to do what he is told.

The following is an example of Russia’s retaliation, focusing on military targets. Some innocent civilians may have lost their lives, which is regrettable and should be avoided. But this is not the same as the claim that civilians were the intended targets. The objective here was to take out a major drone producing factory complex in Kyiv, and the strike was a success.

The Russian strikes shave shown Russia has a better capability, and there is now doubt an important reason why they took place is to show this. One other effect is that it depletes Ukrainian munitions and capacity to strike. This is why the European nations involved have Announced the scaling up of their military support for Kyiv, including supplying long-range missiles.

The reality is that Russia will not be defeated and has the capacity to use much more destructive weaponry, which includes hypersonic IBMs, and other fire power weapons, and industrial capacity that are superior to what Ukraine and its backers possess. Their army is much bigger and battle experienced, and morale amongst the soldiers is high.

Even with limiting the firepower applied Russia is steadily advancing in the ground. Denying this does not change the fact, and doubters should make their own investigation.

Secondly, unlike the narrative heard on the west, the majority of the world is sympathetic to Russia’s position, and the four nations openly backing the Zelensky regime find themselves increasingly isolated. This is why the four stand on their own.

A ceasefire is urgently needed for the sake of both Ukrainian and Russian peoples. The sooner the deaths and destruction can stop. But only a fool can believe that this can happen on the back of a Russian surrender and ignoring the concerns that drove toward conflict.

NATO should not be allowed to expand. This relic of the Cold War, used to impose dominance over nations should be consigned to history. Examine the intentions of those in charge of the western powers, the objective is to head to the east and expand along the Pacific and Indian Oceans, to attack China. Ukraine is part of this push. A dismantled Russia would mean a military buildup on China’s northern frontier.

This is the path towards nuclear war, which would bring catastrophe for humanity and the world. Demanding that the four western powers and their creation in Kyiv respect the call for peace and stop pushing for war is for the benefit of all.

Only with a genuine and ongoing ceasefire that addresses the interests of both Ukrainians and Russians will peace be possible. Ukraine must be guaranteed it sovereignty and independence, if this is wished by the people of Ukraine, and must be freed from all form of foreign interference, whether this means Russia, the United States, or the major European powers. Ukraine must be demilitarised by agreement and NATO must stay out. Ukraine must be turned around with institutions that allow the people to make a fair choice.
