Video: Rebels stop traffic on Brisbane’s Victoria Bridge

Victoria Bridge in Brisbane

This goes to show that with a bit of imagination and the courage to carry it out, creative and effective ways can be found, to create attention for one’s cause. Extinction Rebellion is developing new ways to show that it is here in Australia, and that the existing climate emergency requires nothing short of citizens rebelling and disrupting the functioning of business as usual. Appeals to government and those who are profiting massively from the destruction of our environment don’t work, and the situation is too serious to take any other course.

This time, four people used a new way to block traffic on Brisbane’s Victoria Bridge, right at the city’s central business district.

As it happened today.
