Stay strong Wangaratta!

Workers at Rural City of Wangaratta are forced to take industrial action to protect their conditions from going backward. Industrial relations laws in this country are broken. #changetherules

  1. In 1891 the shearers took strike action to gain better working conditions, and during the 1950’s Bob Menzies P.M. discredited those Unions that attempted to maintain or improve their working conditions for their members were called communists. In this 21st Century the Australian cricketers and Rugby League footballers went on strike to improve their own financial predicament. Such decisions of over a 100 years ago and more recently have been exercised as a last resort, but at least achieved the acceptable outcomes. Congratulation Wangaratta Council workers you will achieve your objectives as the Unionists in the past has succeeded. I would think that the elected Wangaratta Councillors should be looking for a new C.E.O. who is able to communicate with the workers and make a just decisions that will improve Industrial harmony that is acceptable to the City’s Electors.

  2. I don’t care if it is, I am too old to worry about such minor possiiblities
