Video: Unions go for paid Covid-19 leave for permanent and casual workers

ACTU Secretary Sally McManus

The Australian Council of trade Unions (ACTU) is leading the union movement in pursuing two weeks leave paid by employers, arguing that it is their responsibility to keep workers safe under existing law.

This call for paid leave is for both permanent and causal workers.

Efforts have been made to talk to Prime Minister Scott Morrison. He has failed to respond so far. Individual unions are also approaching employers in their industries.

There is a petition to back this call. It can be accessed on this link.
