Video: Webinar celebrated May Day 2020 in Melbourne

From May Day Victoria

This year, instead of the usual activities held during the week around 1 May, the main focus was on a Webinar held on Sunday 3 May. It went well, despite the occasional technical hitch. Those who joined in responded quite enthusiastically, and the resolution read out was approved by overwhelming acclaim.

The clip below takes a little while to start. Please be patient. It will come, despite the occasional technical hitch. The clip below takes a little while to start.

May Day 2020

May Day is about all of the struggles of the working class, not just in Australia but throughout the world. It is about solidarity with and between workers in Australia and workers in all other countries, about their constant struggles for decent pay and conditions, the constant struggles to defend and restore their basic rights as workers and about their right to fight to replace capitalism with a workers system, with socialism.Clearly, given all the restrictions arising from the Pandemic, May Day 2020 events will not be able to proceed as originally planned, in order to make sure that we protect the health of May Day workers and supporters. Please enjoy our online replacement meeting for May Day 2020.
